Chronic Tendon Injury

Hello, free people.

What's the deal with people getting hitched when it's the least convenient for me? My lifting buddy had the audacity to have an absolutely adorable wedding this past weekend. The ceremony featured a cheesecake buffet which, coupled with a predictable lack of self-control, made me vomitously sick.

Anyway, being left high and dry like this, I've taken to doing some off-script lifts in my buddy's absence. One such lift that seemed as though it would be fun is called the Lockout Partial Bench Press. There were two main things that attracted me to this lift: 1.) you can do it by yourself 2.) you get to use a lot of weight. Much more weight than you can actually bench press. Unbelievably, this stupid lift has seems to have shoved my scaphoid bone into the anatomic recess usually reserved for my ulna and thereby exacerbated the injury that I sustained last January! It's not all bad news, though, because I like to complain.

So the moral of this story is... Don't eat too much cheesecake. It'll make you feel weird.

You ever try to watch a football game on nfl.com/live? Last night my small group collectively determined that would be the smart thing to do only to find that they only show a few minutes of game footage at a time. The rest of the air time is spent with commentators discussing what might be going on and non-linear instant replays. It's quite a confusing experience.

Finals week?
